I recently went to the Runge Nature Center and had a great time. The Runge has indoor exhibits and many miles of outdoor trails. Inside you can find anything from snakes and spiders to fish and turtles. They also have a wilderness viewing area and a nature library (I found the mushroom hunting books very interesting). While exploring one of the many trails we saw a snake, a frog, a turtle, and three deer!! The Runge is a great place for children and adults to see and learn about Missouri's natural habitats. Plus its free!! and open year round. For more info about the Runge go to www.mdc.mo.gov/areas/cnc/runge
